| Panama City is the county seat of Bay County. It is the largest city between Pensacola and Tallahassee. The city's population is estimated at 36,417, as of 2005. There are many large employers in Bay County, they include: Tyndall Air Force Base, Coastal systems Station-Naval Surface Warfare Center, Gulf Power, Arizona Chemical, Stone Container, and Berg Pipe. In 2006, Panama City was named the best place to invest in real estate by CNN's Business 2.0 magazine. Its total area is 53.1 square miles of which 23.12% is water. |
