Clewiston is also called "America's Sweetest Town." It is part of Hendry County and has a total area of about 4.7 square miles. It is located between Fort Myers and Palm Beach with access to Lake Okeechobee. Through the Okeechobee Waterway, boats up to 120 feet have direct access from either coast. Clewiston is a great place for freshwater fishing in Lake Okeechobee since it offers the best in black bass and pan fishing. Clewiston also offers an 18-hole golf course, lighted tennis courts, a public pool and a water spray park. Clewiston also has Sugarland Park Recreational Facility with nine ballfields, soccer fields, and racquetball courts. Trinidad Park offers a pavilion, individual covered picnic tables, a walking path, and much more. Hendry County Regional Medical Center is located in Clewiston.
