| Hernando County is a county with an estimated population of 165,409, as of 2006. Its county seat is Brooksville, but it also includes Weeki Wachee. According to Southern Business and Development Magazine, Hernando County is considered "One of the Top Business Locations in the South," and "The Leading Growth County in the Nation," according to American Demographics Magazine. The largest Wal-Mart Distribution Center in the country is located in Hernando County, specifically in Ridge Manor. The county also has its own airport, The Hernando County Airport, which is home to the Florida National Guard 3rd Battalion 20th Special Forces Charlie Company and the Florida Army National Guard 171st Aviation Battalion. According to the World Atlas, USA, the county is the geographic center of Florida. |
