| Marianna is the county seat of Jackson County. As of 2004, the population was 6,200. The city has a total area of 8.1 square miles, of which .37% is water. Marianna is home to the following educational institutions: Chipola College, Golson, Riverside Elementary, Marianna Middle School, Marianna High School, and Dayspring Christian Academy. Tourists can enjoy the Florida Caverns, the Florida State Golf Course, and the Indian Springs golf course. The Chipola River runs right through Marianna. |
