YeeHaw Junction is a small community located in Osceola County in central Florida, not too far from the city of Kissimmee. YeeHaw Junction is best known for its' annual Bluegrass Festival and Fiddle Championship that usually takes place in January each year. At one time, the town was called Crossroads, and also Jackass Crossing and the Crossing. No one is really sure how the name YeeHaw Junction came to be. Disney World is about one hour north of YeeHaw Junction and Vero Beach is about an hour and a half east. There are many freshwater lakes in the area where you can enjoy fishing, boating, swimming, and camping. Osceola County offers almost every type of outdoor sport, like golf, tennis, hiking, biking and nature tours. It's one of the few places where you can have your picture made with an alligator, observe native wildlife from an airboat or pick your own oranges at local citrus groves. Nearby attractions include Gatorland, the Flying Tigers Warbird Air Museum and Bok Tower Gardens. |
