| The Town of Jay is part of Santa Rosa County. Its total area is 1.6 square miles, all land. It is located on high ground on the east bank of the Escambia River. It is a farming community with such major crops as cotton, soybeans, peanuts and hay. Exxon ha a small refinery located there. Every Autumn, Jay holds the Jay Peanut Festival and hosts several local rodeo events. Jay Hospital is a 55 bed hospital that is an affiliate of Baptist Health System. There are several private airstrips, and the closest airport is the Pensacola Regional Airport. |
